For beginning rug hookers, the most difficult thing is to pull even height loops that are not packed too closely together. Remember that you do not have to pull a loop in every hole of the foundation. In fact, skipping 2-3 holes between loops will likely suffice. For even loop height, remember that loops only need to be pulled as high as the strip you are using is wide. Easily check yourself by comparing a strip laid on its cut side next to your row of hooked loops.
