It is important when creating a beautiful handmade card to really think about the message that is going to be communicated from the card. Then utilize your materials to evoke feelings about that message. For example, if you are creating a sympathy card to be given to someone who has lost a loved one, then using subdued colors and soft lines is very appropriate. However, if trying to cheer someone up who is ill, then use vibrant colors and splashy images to portray those feelings.
