Great Artisan Jewelry Websites

Elizabeth's Exclusives on Etsy

I'm a multi-layered jewelry designer. I only use natural gemstones such as peridot, amethyst, labradorite etc. Recently I've moved into metalsmithing and make my own sterling silver and gold filled earwires as well as hammering and melting metal as much as possible!

Metal Stamping Crafty Tip
To get a better grip on metal stamps wrap them in self sticking tape. This will not leave a residue on your stamps and you can get a better grip while whacking them with your hammer. A better grip on your stamps translates into straighter letters/designs.

Resin jewellery making is fun and easy as long as you follow the necessary safety guidelines:

4) Eyeglasses or goggles should be worn whilst working with resin and sanding the finished jewellery item.
5) Wear a dust mask whilst sanding the resin piece after it has cured.

Selling Crafts Online Crafty Tip
Make sure you have and always promote your own domain name when selling online, whether you use it for you own independent shop or have it redirect to an Etsy or Dawanda shop. This will protect your business and give you the ability to keep the same URL if you wish to set up an independent shop later.

Making Jewelry with Polymer Clay Crafty Tip
If you are wire wrapping a polymer clay focal piece and you want to oxidize the wire, do so BEFORE wrapping the polymer clay piece. Otherwise, the odor of both liver of sulfur or a hard boiled egg will penetrate the polymer clay and leave you with a "stinky" finished product! :(

The Charm Farm Shop

Most unique & fun jewellery you'll find out there at the moment with 10% going to the mental health charity, MIND UK

Glazing Crafty Tip
My best tip is use toothpicks to hang items to dry whilst glazing. Once the first layer dries, they will be solidly stuck to the toothpick and easy to work with!

Bedizen Designs

Unique copper jewelry by me, Jess. I love earrings and they have become my specialty. Many of my items feature natural components like leaves, twigs and stones. Most items are coated with a gloss finish to protect and prevent color change.

Jewelry Making Crafty Tip
Make sure to experiment with different products and natural materials. You might just stumble upon a technique or design that you hadn't expected, particularly when a bit of chemistry's involved. For example, a new adhesive I tried caused the metal to turn a beautiful shade of blue. What normally would have been a disaster, turned into one of my most popular items.
