When bead weaving using nylon string, the string will be in a coiled shape when you take it off the spool. This will make it more difficult to weave. Straighten out the string by boiling some water and running the string back and forth through the steam until it becomes perfectly straight.

If you are having difficulty putting a bead on a larger cord, such as hemp, using beeswax on the end of the cord will typically allow the bead to just slide right down. This is also useful for sealing the ends of the cords.
