Every 8-10 stitches you should drop your needle to let the floss untwist.

Crafty Tip

A major secret to making hypertufa items ... patience! Seems that many beginners are too impatient for their projects to set and cure, and end up destroying their first creation because it wasn’t ready to be unmolded yet.

Crafty Tip

Some of the best places to find interesting china pieces are jumble sales and charity/thrift stores. Also, be sure to ask all of your friends and family to keep things they break. You could even ask at crockery shops if they have any breakages.

Crafty Tip

How do you avoid the "ladder" that sometimes develops between the needles when you use double pointed needles? One way that works is to tighten the second stitch a little more firmly on each needle as you knit. This seems to close the gap in the area between the stitches.

Crafty Tip

If you need to piece together a quilt back, I recommend you leave the selvages on until piecing is done. Pin your fabrics together along the selvage, right sides together. Sew your seam 1/4" away from the edge of the printing (your seam allowance may be up to 1" wide), then go back and trim off the excess fabric after your seam is sewn. This way your fabric is stable while you're sewing, and you're guaranteed that none of the selvage will show up on your quilt back. Also, be sure to backstitch at the beginning and end of your line of stitching so your backing doesn't fall apart as you're quilting!

In-Depth Yarn Reviews
An experienced knitter reviews many popular yarns. Reviews include a discussion on knitting with the yarn, flatness of fabric, splitting of strands, blocking and washing a finished piece, wearability and the typical price to knit a sweater using the yarn. Honest reviews that are obviously not written by the manufacturer give anyone wishing to use these yarns a fair representation of their quality. Numerous products covered and author will conduct reviews on demand if supplied with yarn samples.

Crafty Tip

When using a pattern-dyed sock yarn and want to make two completely identical socks, you'll want to note where in the yarn's overall color repeats you began the first sock and start the second sock in the same place.
