We are quickly approaching the 300 sites mark. In the past few months there have been two new category additions - Art Photography and Painted Glass as well as a new subcategory - Pet Portraits.

We will no longer add a category without there being at least one site to fill it. So if you would like a new category to advertise your site in; please mention along with your tip the name of the category you would like us to create for you.

We have had to do a little housekeeping and unfortunately, two of our longest listed sites are no longer online. The wonderful cake decorating site appears to have been sold and another site is now using the URL. The macrame site is still registered by the same owner, but is no longer online - we remain hopeful that it will come back. Sadly, that has left both of these categories without any recommended sites. Hopefully, that will be changing in the near future.

We are looking forward to the upcoming holiday season and hope you will consider us as one of your "go-to" sites for finding the craft ideas you need.

Fall 2009 Site Audit

Wow, it has been over two years since I last wrote an update in this area of Crafty Tips. I usually post things on my blog - <a href="http://www.blogaboutcrafts.com" >Blog About Crafts</a> and this section has been decidedly neglected.

Anyway, now that Crafty Tips has over 600 listings, it is long past time to get serious about auditing the sites listed here. So, I have been methodically going through each category to ensure that all of the sites listed are fully functional and still are providing the same great information and hand-made items.

Unfortunately, some really great sites have disappeared and I hated having to delete them. Some were among the earliest sites posted and they somehow seem like old friends. A few changed focus and are no longer related to arts and crafts and others changed their focus but are still arts and crafts related so they needed moving.

Bottom line is that listings are being added, moved and deleted at a faster rate than ever before. Where you might find a site listed today, tomorrow it might be someplace else. While this does create a small bit of chaos, in the long run it will make things much better.

Crafty Tips has grown a great deal since 2007. There are more categories, more great crafting sites being showcased and more great crafting tips being shared. Hopefully, it will not be two years before I post here again. But, as always, Crafty Tips will continue sharing some of the best crafting websites and crafting tips available.
