Polymer Clay Push Molds

The term Push Molds refers to molds that are used by pressing softened clay or other pourable materials into a mold. Dozens of highly detailed impressions can be made in minutes. This simple process allows even novice crafters to create pieces that look like they took hours to make. We have 1,000 molds to choose from today, including the lovely cameo shown here! Flexible molds are available too!

Crafty Tip
There are a variety of reasons why clay might stick to a push mold. Here's a few suggestions on how to ensure that your polymer clay can be easily removed from a mold without damaging the impression.

  • Clay Residue - Keep your polymer clay molds clean with waterless hand cleaner or rubbing alcohol and a soft brush. Allow the mold to dry thoroughly before using.
  • Not enough mold release and too much cornstarch - Excess powder can be removed with a clean, soft brush. Rinsing the mold under running water will dissolve the cornstarch. Do not use the mold until it is thoroughly dry.
  • Soft Clay - Mushy or sticky clay can be leached to remove excess plasticizer before molding.
  • Warm days - If your clay starts sticking to your molds on a hot, humid summer day, place your filled mold into the freezer for a few minutes to firm up the clay and make it easier to remove from the mold.
