Foundation or Paper Piecing Quilting Crafty Tip
If you are new to patchwork and want to get accurate results when piecing, an ideal place to start is with foundation piecing. Use a tear away foundation such as Vilene stitch and tear (or something more basic if it is your first attempt, i.e. plain paper, but use a very short stitch) and you will end up with accurate blocks that match up when you sew them together

Ram in the Thicket Hand Dyed Wool

Providing over 1,100 colors in hand dyed wool for quilting, wool applique, and rug hooking. We offer colors for every taste, in 6-8 values for each color -- primitives, country colors, modern shades and vibrant colors. We sell in 3" X 18" increments for only $1 every day, or any multiple of this increment, up to 2 yards and beyond. One stop shopping for all the colors you need, and low prices to keep your craft affordable.

Fabric Dying Crafty Tip
When dyeing wool for quilting and other wool crafts, I prefer to use liquid dyestock. It is safer than using powder, and easier to finely adjust a formula when looking for that perfect color. I just mix 1 part dye powder with 99 parts water, and keep it in a screw-top milk jug. I use only primary colors, and I am able to produce almost any color I want with just those three. Although I only dye wool, I'm sure that the same can be said for any kind of dyeing.

Crafty Tip
Take you leftover quilt scraps and cut them into strips or squares before moving on to your next project. Keep them in a special place because once you have a nice pile of them, you'll have a pre-cut quilt to make.
