Supplies & Equipment (multi-specialty) Crafty Tip

Using art mats: Try putting your artwork behind several different mats. It becomes readily apparent that the perception of the work changes radically with different combinations of colors. In most cases double mats will work best, but images without bright colors will often work best with a single mat.

Both mounted and unmounted rubber stamps require the care. Ideally use a reputable rubber stamp cleaning block or wipe with an alcohol-free baby wipe. Alternatively rinse in a warm weak solution of washing up liquid.

When knitting, don't buy soft yarn; it is much harder to knit with. A tougher one will make a nice product and can be easier to use.

Supplies & Equipment (multi-specialty) Crafty Tip

I've organized my sewing/quilting area in such a way that it makes doing crafts very enjoyable. The tip is to have your sewing machine, cutting table/work surface, and serger layout in a u-shape. Then, have a large chair mat in the center of it all so that you can roll your chair from sewing machine to work surface to serger without have to even get out of your chair. It's really made crafting a lot more convenient, accessible, and fun for me.

If there are holes in between the stitches in your crocheted toy, try going down a hook size. This will keep the fabric tight so the stuffing will stay in.

Supplies & Equipment (multi-specialty) Crafty Tip

When making cards, if the front of the card it too heavy, try sticking a coin to the back of the card to prevent it falling over.
