Tatting & Lace Crafty Tip

Bobbins come with a small hole at the bottom. This hole is there so you can attach a spangle. A spangle is simply a small ring of wire with a few beads that will help the bobbin to lie flat on your lace pillow, help you to keep track of your bobbin pairs, and are simply decorative.

Tatting & Lace Crafty Tip

To help ensure flat, untwisted thread on your bobbin, wind the bobbin around your thread rather than winding the yarn around the bobbin. It will take a bit longer but your finished tatting will look much nicer for the extra time you took to carefully wind your tatting bobbin.
