When using smaller hand-held ink pads, to avoid streaks on your stamps, it is best to blot the ink onto the stamp as opposed to applying it in a sweeping fashion.
When choosing a calligraphy pen, always go for the real thing, with reloadable ink! While more expensive, real calligraphy pens offer cleaner edges and are less likely to streak. Follow the pen's cleaning instructions carefully to avoid clogging. When trimming out projects, it is best to use an Xacto blade for the most precise results. Paper cutters are not always dependable and often leave unwanted rough edges. To get the best cut, use a metal straight edge with a cork backing to avoid slippage. Place the straight edge cork side down onto the surface. Align the outside edge INSIDE the line to be cut to avoid cutting outside the line. Use the Xacto against the straight edge at a slight angle to get the closest cut.
